Welcome to Planet Cougar!
Listed on the pages inside, you'll find out information
about the Mercury Cougar, which was produced from
1999-2002. At that time, Ford decided that it was
too much of a competitor for the Ford Mustang, and
due to slumping sales, the line was discontinued.
Even though they are no longer being
manufactured, there is a tight-knit family of Cougar
owners, known as the New Edge Cougar Owners, or NECO
for short. I have been a member since August of 2002,
a few months after I purchased this vehicle.
My particular vehicle is a base V6
model, with many modifications that have added some
of the convenience and sport package items, as well
as some other performance and comfort parts. While
viewing any images on my site, please use the text
as what is currently installed, not the photos, as
I am constantly modifying the Cougar, but only taking
pictures once or twice a month.
As of October 24, 2006, I no longer own this vehicle. While it still is driven by someone local to me, I have replaced it with an 07 Escape V6 4WD for winter, and picked up a project 86 Trans Am for the summer months. I have many parts left from the Cougar - feel free to contact me!
